Cost justification — quick versions
Tone: confident, local, helpful — not salesy or defensive. Copy blocks below as needed.
You’re not buying pages — you’re buying an easier way for people on their phone to call you or get directions. Launch Lite is $599 for a solid one-pager; Starter is $999 for three pages; Rebuild is $1,799 if we’re replacing a dated site. One good catering or landscaping job often covers it. If the lump sum is the issue, we can do half up front and half at launch — or three monthly payments. I handle the build; optional Care is $79 a month so you’re not stuck in a website builder.
Most restaurant and landscaping owners I talk to in the Inland Empire don’t want a hobby website — they want the phone to ring and the address to be obvious on a phone.
DIY builders look cheap at twenty or thirty bucks a month, but you’re still the one building it on weekends, and a weak mobile page quietly loses people you never hear from.
What I sell is done-for-you: research your business, put the important stuff up front, click-to-call, directions, basic SEO, revisions, and launch on a fast host. Launch Lite is $599 if you just need a strong one-pager. Starter is $999 for up to three pages. If you already have a site that’s dated or hard to use on a phone, Rebuild is $1,799 — we migrate what’s worth keeping and make the path to call or book obvious.
For cash flow, it’s usually half to start and half before we go live, or we can do three monthly payments. After launch, Care is $79 a month if you want me to handle hours and photo updates so you never log into a builder.
One extra catering job or one landscaping job often pays for the whole project. Happy to show you a concept for your business so you can see it before you decide.
Opening reframe & what $X buys
You’re not really buying “pages.” You’re buying a clearer path for someone on their phone to call you, get directions, or ask about catering / a quote — instead of bouncing to the next Google result.
Most owners I talk to in San Bernardino don’t want to become part-time web designers. They want the phone to ring.
For $599 you’re getting a done-for-you one-page site that works on phones: your name and offer up front, click-to-call, directions, basic SEO so Google knows who you are, a revision round, and launch. You’re not paying for a template subscription and a weekend of figuring it out — you’re paying so customers can reach you this week.
The $999 Starter is a full local site — typically Home, Services or Menu, and Contact. Mobile layout, clear call buttons, basic on-page SEO, form or click-to-call, two rounds of revisions, and we launch it. That’s research, structure, design, and getting it live — not “three HTML files.”
Rebuild is $1,799 because we’re not starting from a blank Facebook page — we’re replacing what’s already confusing people. That includes migrating your content, fixing the mobile path, clearer CTAs, SEO cleanup, redirects if URLs change, revisions, and launch. For a place people already search for, the cost of a weak site is usually higher than the rebuild.
After launch, most owners don’t want to log into a builder. Care is $79 a month for up to two hours of updates — hours, photos, specials — we handle it. Cancel anytime with notice.
Anchors (use one or two)
If you or someone on staff spends even a couple of evenings on Squarespace, that’s real time away from the kitchen, the yard, or customers. The site fee is usually cheaper than that time — and the result looks intentional.
When the page is slow, the menu’s hard to find, or call and directions aren’t obvious, people don’t complain — they just leave. You never hear about those. Fixing that path is what the project is for.
The subscription is the cheap part. The expensive part is building it, keeping it from looking like a template, and maintaining it every time hours or services change. We do that work for you. Year one, our Launch Lite is often in the same ballpark as a year of Squarespace — without you spending the weekends.
Restaurant / catering: One solid catering or banquet booking — or a handful of new regulars who found you on their phone — often covers the whole project.
Landscaper / outdoor: One landscaping job, cleanup, or seasonal contract usually pays for the site. After that, the site’s working for you.
Don’t promise a specific number of jobs. Anchor the scale, then shut up.
Objection handlers
Totally fair — a lot of families have someone who’s good with computers. The question is usually whether they have time to finish it, keep it mobile-friendly, and update it when you’re busy. I’m here when you want it done and off your plate — not to compete with family.
If they’re happy waiting on the nephew: wish them well. Don’t argue.
Right — the hosting plan is inexpensive. What you’re comparing is DIY plus that subscription versus someone building a site aimed at calls and bookings, then handling updates if you want Care. Plenty of owners start on Squarespace and still end up hiring help when it sits unfinished. Happy to talk through which path fits how you like to work.
If they must edit weekly themselves → Squarespace alternate (separate quote). Otherwise stay on static + Care.
Do not immediately discount. (1) Reframe calls/bookings. (2) Soften: Lite for thin presence, or 50/50 / 3 monthly on Rebuild. (3) Only then reduce scope — not arbitrary price cuts.
I hear you. We don’t have to jump to the full rebuild — we can start with Launch Lite so you’re findable and easy to call, or we can split the Rebuild into a payment plan so it’s easier on cash flow. Same work either way on the plan — just paced differently.
Mitla’s been a San Bernardino landmark since 1937 — the site should feel like that, not like a leftover from 2016. One banquet catering booking often covers a full rebuild.
Use only with Mitla / similar heritage brands. Don’t force it on every landscaper call.
Objection → move map
| They say | You do |
|---|---|
| “Seems like a lot for a website” | Reframe → calls/bookings; anchor to one job |
| “Nephew / friend can do it” | Respect + time/finish risk; don’t compete |
| “Squarespace is cheap” | Sub ≠ build; offer Lite or Care contrast |
| “Too expensive” | Lite or payment plan — not random discount |
| “Can you do it for $300?” | Politely no; Lite is the floor for done-for-you |
| “I’ll think about it” | Send concept + Calendly; no pressure close |
